Dr. Monique Mun, M.D.

Dr. Monique Mun, M.D. (she/her/hers) is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science from The University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) where she studied psychobiology and developmental psychology. She traded sunny Californian days for winters in the midwest and moved to Michigan to attend medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine. She stayed in Michigan to complete her general (adult) psychiatry training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. After several grueling winters, she decided to move closer to family and drove down south to Austin, Texas to pursue a child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at The University of Texas at Austin/Dell Medical School.

Personal message from Dr. Mun

“Welcome! I provide diagnostic assessment and medication treatment for psychiatric disorders for children, teens, and young adults up to 24 years old. My mantra is that no two patients are alike and treatment is not one-size-fits-all. When it comes to creating an individual treatment plan for each person, I take an evidence-based approach that also takes into account one’s lifestyle, medical history, sleep, nutrition, social wellbeing, and cultural factors. I also assess your personal goals and how psychiatric treatment can assist in achieving those goals. Whether it’s your first time receiving any mental health care, or you’re continuing your mental health journey, I will work with you along the way.”
